Product Description
A metric fine thread version of the common DIN 933 / ISO 4017 hexagon head set screw. Fine pitch variant screws have some distinct advantages over their coarse pitch counterparts. Size for size they are stronger than the coarse thread versions "in tension" as there is a larger stress (contact) area. They also have a larger minor diameter meaning shear is less likely. Fine Pitch set screws have less tendancy to loosen as they have a much smaller thread incline. Fine pitch bolts should be preferred if being used to adjust settings, as they give closer more precise control. Some downsides of using Fine pitch bolts or screws are they are slower to install, so not ideal where quick fitment and removal are required and they are also more likely to suffer from thread galling.
